Extensible Augumented Reality for Human Internal Body Parts
نویسنده
چکیده
Basic knowledge about human anatomy is an important education. While there has been much advances in the way the subject is being taught, there is still a very large gap in bringing these knowledge to the average man as much focus is on professional medical practitioners. Presented in this paper is an augmented reality mobile application for anatomy education. The main goal of the project is to present a fast and accessible means of communicating anatomy information without the use of specialized and sophisticated devices. The proposed project will also provide a means of extending the viewable data set to suit any anatomy visualization need. The basic idea is to overlay corresponding images of the dataset to be viewed to any human to which the mobile phone containing the application is pointed to, in real-time. Thus, we address the problem of human figure segmentation and tracking, pose estimation, point correspondence and superposition of the anatomic image. متن کاملCreating light-weight virtual humans for Virtual Environments
With the advent of whole body, 3D electro-optical scanners, a new range of applications are emerging that exploit the availability of personalised, realistic human models. However, realistic rendering of such models usually entails a large number of polygons which can be unacceptable in many applications. We present a framework that exploits the approximate cylindrical and spherical symmetry of...
متن کاملEmbodied Cognition and Virtual Reality in Learning to Visualize Anatomy
This study examines the facilitative effects of embodiment of a complex internal anatomical structure through threedimensional (“3-D”) interactivity in a virtual reality (“VR”) program. Since Shepard and Metzler’s influential 1971 study, it has been known that 3-D objects (e.g., multiple-armed cube or external body parts) are visually and motorically embodied in our minds. Such findings confirm...
